Ivory trade drives loss of 111,000 Elephants in the past decade

Africa’s Elephant population has gone down by an estimated 111,000 in the past decade mainly due to poaching, according to the IUCN’s African Elephant Status Report.

Released at the world’s biggest wildlife trade seminar, the commanding report guesses that there are 415,000 Elephants through the 37 range states in Africa—a huge drop since the last full apprise in 2006.
